A chew that has to be safe for a 10 lb dog and useful for a 100 lb dog ends up weak at the top of that range and pointless in the middle. That is why the amounts on most dog supplements sit nowhere near the amounts used in the research they cite.
So we build one breed at a time, print every amount on the label, and say plainly what a chew cannot do. It costs us most of the dog market. It is the only way the numbers mean anything.
